Welcome to day 1 of the Duchess and Hare Patterns Blog Tour! I’m very pleased to be joining in with some fabulous seamstresses to showcase these beautiful patterns!!
Duchess and Hare offer PDF sewing patterns with a vintage style, inspired by the 40’s and 50’s, and a modern fit .
The Center of Attention Dress certainly hits that brief!
I made a size 5 for my daughter, using a beautiful floral by Jennifer Paganelli for the bodice and a mystery cut of pink fabric I bought while visiting the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair recently. It has some 2 way stretch and is almost like a velvet… It was easy to sew and looks sweet on, so it’s a winner for me.
The unique bodice shape offers the perfect chance to perfect your fussy cutting technique. I was really pleased that the rose fit in there so well!
I’ll admit to having a bit of a love affair with invisible zippers and added one to my dress, no pattern adjustments necessary on my daughter 😉
The sleeves are finished with bias binding, for a clean look.
The above the knee skirt length is a great play length.
This dress will certainly see Liv through the Spring birthday party season! (once it warms up in Australia!) She loves the bright colours and pretty detailing.
Things I love about the Center of Attention dress:
Layers!! (everyone’s best friend 😉 )
2 sleeve options (cap and short)
Clear instructions
Size chart AND finished measurement chart
Printing cheat sheet, so you easily know which pattern pages to print!!
Sizes 2 – 8
